How to Make a QR Code for UPI, Wi-Fi or Your Website

Updated 7 November 2026 · 5 min read

Create a free, permanent QR code for UPI payments, guest Wi-Fi, a website, phone number or email — plus printing tips so it always scans.

Static QR codes never expire

The QR codes made here are static: the link or text is stored inside the pattern itself. They need no account, never expire and keep working even if this website disappeared. The only catch is that you can't change the destination later — you would make a new code.

QR code for a website or menu

Choose ‘URL’, paste the full link starting with https://, and download. Shorter links create simpler patterns that scan faster from a distance, so use a clean page address rather than a long link with tracking parameters.

QR code for Wi-Fi

Choose ‘Wi-Fi’, enter the network name exactly as it appears (it is case-sensitive), the password and the security type — usually WPA/WPA2. Guests scan the code with their camera and join without typing the password. Print it for a café counter or a guest room.

QR code for UPI payments

Choose ‘UPI’ and enter your UPI ID and the name to display. You can leave the amount empty so customers type it themselves. Always test by scanning with a UPI app and checking the payee name before you print — a typo in the UPI ID sends money to the wrong place or fails.

Printing tips

A few rules keep codes scannable:

  • Dark pattern on a light background; avoid inverted or low-contrast colours.
  • At least 2 × 2 cm on paper, larger for posters read from far away.
  • Leave a white margin (quiet zone) around the code.
  • Use SVG for printing — it stays sharp at any size.
  • Test with two or three different phones before printing many copies.
