Frequently asked questions
What do QIB, NII, bNII, sNII and Retail mean?
QIB = qualified institutional buyers (mutual funds, banks, FIIs). NII/HNI = non-institutional investors above ₹2 lakh, split into sNII (₹2–10 lakh) and bNII (above ₹10 lakh). Retail = individuals applying up to ₹2 lakh.
Why does QIB subscription matter?
Institutions do detailed research, so strong QIB demand is often watched as a signal of quality. It is still not a guarantee of listing gains.
When is subscription data final?
Final figures are published by the exchanges after the issue closes, usually by the evening of the last day.
